Volunteering on Thanksgiving Day in Arlington

Where to help this Thanksgiving in Arlington.

Looking to do some good on Thanksgiving Day in Arlington? View some volunteer opportunities below:

Thanksgiving Turkey

  • Arlington’s Knights of Columbus is looking for cooked turkeys that would be delivered to needy families. The organization seeks cooked, unstuffed 20-pound turkeys through Wednesday. Call 703-532-8498 or visit Knights of Columbus for more information.

Thanksgiving Day Friendly Visitors

  • The Holiday Project of the National Capital Area is looking for volunteers to visit the Potomac Center Nursing Home to meet with residents. Volunteers meet with residents and sometimes bring cards, calendars or gifts like soap or lotion, but that is not required. Giving of homemade foods is discouraged because some residents have dietary restrictions. Pets, however, are welcome. For more information, visit Volunteer Arlington or contact Robin Wiley at 703-548-3606. Volunteers are needed from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 1785 S. Hayes St., Potomac Center Nursing Home.
