All of Clarendon was a stage Monday afternoon, at least for Jimmy Kreutzer and Philip Ambuel.
The pair, from Falls Church, set up outside the Clarendon Metro Station with Ambuel on string bass and Kreutzer playing alto saxophone. Occasionally a passerby would drop a dollar or two in the saxophone case as they improvised through the afternoon.
The two have been friends for about three years. Ambuel just got back from an extended stay in Paris.
"This is the first time we've gotten to jam in a while," he said.
