1. Metallica, Led Zeppelin and The Smiths/Morrissey tribute bands
When/Where: Battery (Metallica tribute) takes the stage at at 9 p.m. Thursday; Lez Zeppelin (all-female Led Zeppelin tribute) plays at 8:30 p.m. Friday at The State Theatre; and Spineless Swine (Smiths/Morrissey tribute) plays at 9 p.m. Sunday.

Why go: The 81st annual Georgetown House Tour highlights historical, interesting, unique and idea-filled homes.

4. Fairfax Fine Art Festival
When/Where: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at 11900 Grand Commons Ave., Fairfax
Why go: Fairfax Corner hosts . More than 130 artists will have works on display, and more than 10,000 pieces of original art — including paintings, sculptures, photographs, jewelry and digital art — will be for sale.
Cost: Parking and admission are free.
5. 'Bell, Book and Candle'
When/Where: 2 to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday at in Ballston Common Mall
Why go:"Bell, Book and Candle" is about a witch who puts a love spell on a neighbor. The 1950s play also explores themes of intolerance.
