Where/When: Washington Harbour, 3050 K St NW, Washington. Sunday, noon to 3 p.m.

Why Go: Grab a chair and cocktail from Sequoia on the Georgetown Waterfront on Sunday and listen to the cool, breezy sounds of Roger Greenidge, who will be performing free on the plaza at Washington Harbour every Sunday in June. If you close your eyes and use a little imagination, the murky Potomac will be transformed into crystal-clear Caribbean waters.

3.

Where/When: , 1911 Fort Myer Dr., Arlington. Friday, 8 p.m.

Why Go: Between the tickets, the popcorn and that jumbo-sized soft drink, a trip for two to the movie theater costs upwards of $50 these days.
