Get Out: Patch's Pick-and-Choose Weekend Planner

If you need help making weekend plans, look no further.

If you're going to be busy lounging on the beach, sipping frozen cocktails poolside and strolling the boardwalk this weekend, this week's "Get Out" guide may not be for you.

For this rest of us stuck in this city during this long weekend, here are a few events you won't want to miss.

1. Washington Nationals vs. San Diego Padres

2. Rent a kayak or canoe

Where/When: , 3500 K St. NW, Washington. Open on Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Why Go: If you can't decide whether to spend time in Arlington or D.C. this weekend, straddle two states instead and rent a canoe or kayak and float down the Potomac. To sweeten the deal, check out today's Groupon.

Pricing: Canoe and kayak rentals are $14 per person for one hour. Each additional hour is $14.00.

3. Washington National Opera performs "Iphigénie en Tauride"

Where/When: The Kennedy Center, 2700 F St. NW, Washington. Saturday, 7 p.m.

Why Go: According to The Kennedy Center's website, "Iphigénie, high priestess of Taurus, is tormented by dreams of her family's bloody past and intimations of violence in the future. Will she accede to the barbaric King Thoas' demands and murder her own brother? Can she survive in this world of bloodshed and fear?" Saturday will be your last night to find out. The shows closes this weekend.

Pricing: Tickets range from $65 to $300.

Why Go: A movie under the stars on a warm spring evening? Great. "Tommy Boy" (starring Chris Farley and David Spade) under the stars on a warm spring evening? Even better!

Where/When: , 1819 35th St. NW, Georgetown.

Why Go: Skip the mall this weekend and peruse the flea market at your own pace.
