DC Ranked Among Most Bikeable Large Cities
DC ranks sixth among the most bikeable large cities in the United States, according to WalkScore.
DC ranks as the sixth most-bikeable large city, according to data released this week by WalkScore.
DC received a bike score of 65.3 out of 100 possible points.
The top five large cities (defined as those with populations of more than 500,000) were: Portland, OR; San Francisco; Denver; Philadelphia; Boston.

Overall across the United States, bicycle commuting grew 47 percent between 2000 and 2010, according to the League of American Bicyclists. But in DC, the growth rate was a whopping 315 percent.
To kick off summer and raise awareness, Friday, May 17 is National Bike to Work Day—part of the League of American Bicyclists’ Bike Month. (See more about the pit stops and Arlington information here.)
