Arlington Senior Centers Host Special Events

September is National Senior Center Month.

Arlington’s six senior centers will be recognizing National Senior Center Month in September.

The events kick off next week. The Arlington County Office of Senior Adult Programs’ 55-plus biking group will meet at 10 a.m. Sept. 5 at Bluemont Park for a 20-mile ride that will take riders to all six of the senior centers.

A community health fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 7 at the Aurora Hills Senior Center, 735 S. 18th St.

A housing design speaker, William Fuller, will give a presentation at 7 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Walter Reed Senior Center, 2909 S. 16th St.

A series of dance classes for the mobility impaired takes place at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Madison Community Center, 3829 N. Stafford St.

The opening day of the Northern Virginia Senior Olympics starts at 9:45 a.m. on Sept. 15 at the Thomas Jefferson Community Center, 3501 S. 2nd St.

A health and wellness fair takes place from 10 a.m. to  2 p.m. on Sept. 22 at Walter Reed Senior Center, 2909 S. 16th St.

Culpeper Garden Senior Center, 4435 N. Pershing Drive, is hosting an open house on from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sept. 23.

A retirement fair will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 29 at the Langston-Brown Senior Center, 2121 N. Culpeper St.
