Rahman Joins New York Life as VP International Regulatory Affairs
New York Life has announced that Pooja Rahman has joined the company as a vice president. She reports to George Nichols III, senior vice president in charge of the Office of Governmental Affairs.
Ms. Rahman is responsible for developing and implementing substantive policy positions influencing domestic and international policymakers’ decisions on issues related to international solvency and accounting standards for insurers, as well as on insurance supervision.
Prior to joining New York Life, Ms. Rahman was manager and counsel, international policy and analysis for the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC). Prior to the NAIC, she was director, senior corporate counsel for Aviva, plc, and in-house counsel for the Iowa Insurance Division. Additionally, she worked at Principal Financial Group as a technical analyst.

Ms. Rahman earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Mumbai, an M.B.A. from the University of New Orleans, and a J.D. from Drake University Law School. She resides in Rutherford, New Jersey with her husband, Hashmath, and their two children.
