"All That Jazz" with Award Winning Jazz Pianist Burnett Thompson

Artisphere’s resident ensemble, The National Chamber Ensemble, concludes their exciting fifth season with a program featuring Jazz. Acclaimed pianist Burnett Thompson whose associations with an international array of jazz artists, musicians of the National Symphony Orchestra, and intimate chamber ensembles have made him a legend in Washington DC, joins the NCE for this special performance on SATURDAY (7:30pm), June 2, 2012, at the Spectrum Theatre at Artisphere, 1611 N. Kent Street, in Arlington, Virginia. Free Parking (in PMI/Rosslyn Spectrum Garage. Rear of bldg on Arlington Ridge Rd.)( Two blocks from Rosslyn Metro)

Gershwin: Rhapsody in Blue
Stephane Grappelli: Transcriptions for violin and jazz trio
Burnett Thompson: Music for cello and jazz trio

FEATURED ARTISTS: Burnett Thompson (piano), Artistic Director Leo Sushansky (violin), Lukasz Szyrner (cello), Leland Nakamura(drums), Ephriam Wolfolk ( bass).

Artisphere connects artists and audiences through an eclectic mix of arts programming. The facility provides visitors with insight into the creative process, allowign them to engage in artistic experiences ranging from contemporary visual art, live music and theatre to new media, film and dance. Artisphere is located two blocks away  from the Rosslyn Metro (blue/orange), and within walking distance of Georgetown. Admission to Artisphere and all of its visual art galleries is free, although there is a charge for ticketed events. Artisphere offers free parking for its patrons on weekday evenings after 5pm, as well as all day on weekends.
