Concert 1: Classical Guitar in the Spotlight

NCE showcases the classical guitar with critically acclaimed guitarist Orlando Roman. Romance is instantaneous! Such is the essence of the classical guitar, which may well be the most introspective of all musical instruments. Featuring exciting music of the Italian and Spanish masters.
Concert 2: Celebrating the Holiday Season with NCE

Program features talented young guest musicians, seasonal favorites as well as a traditional carols sing along. The concert will be a heart warming and exciting event for the whole family. Acclaimed soprano Nancy Peery Marriott joins the NCE and the charming Cecilia Cassidy, Executive Director of the Rosslyn Renaissance / Rosslyn BID returns as guest host.
Concert 3: Night at the Palace
Saturday, February 4, 2012 | 7:30 PM
The Spectrum Theater stage will be transformed into a palace setting in St. Petersburg, Russia. Travel back in time for the spectacular concert, set at the turn of the twentieth century. The program features virtuoso instrumental music and an inspiring performance from Ballet Nova. Works by Glinka, Handel, Tchaikovsky and Dvorak.
Concert 4: Brahms: The Sonatas for Violin and Piano

Violinist Leonid Sushansky, called “Astonishing...extraordinarily gifted,” by The New York Times and Carlos Rodriguez , acclaimed by The Washington Post as “a powerful pianist” bring their artistry to this terrific program.
The Brahms violin sonatas are all exceptional masterpieces that occupy their own world of elegant construction, romantic sweep and exquisite beauty.
Concert 5: All That Jazz!

Featuring award winning pianist and composer Jeffrey Chappell. The program will include the jazz suites by Claude Bolling as well as original arrangements of Jazz favorites. The end of our fifth season is the perfect time to enjoy this wonderful jazz evening and get those toes tapping. Not to be missed!
The National Chamber Ensemble, praised last season by the Washington Post for being " Delightful...", will entrance and educate the connoisseur, as well as the first time concertgoer. With the musician's wonderful ability to interact with the audience while performing at the highest caliber both classical and modern chamber selections, the NCE is re-defining chamber music.

More About Artisphere
Artisphere connects artists and audiences through an eclectic mix of arts programming. The facility provides visitors with insight into the creative process, allowign them to engage in artistic experiences ranging from contemporary visual art, live music and theatre to new media, film and dance. Artisphere is located two blocks away from the Rosslyn Metro (blue/orange), and within walking distance of Georgetown. Admission to Artisphere and all of its visual art galleries is free, although there is a charge for ticketed events. Artisphere offers free parking for its patrons on weekday evenings after 5pm, as well as all day on weekends.
