Visions for Vacancies: What Should Replace Restaurant 3?
In this new column, Patch wants your ideas for developing vacant spaces in Arlington.
Patch recently launched this new column where we solicit your best ideas for empty lots and vacant businesses in Arlington.
It's a modern spin on community planning—Patch's version of a charette, a digital drawing board where all ideas are on the table.
Each week we'll present a new vacant building or an empty lot and ask you to tell us what you think would be the best use for it.
We're calling it Visions for Vacancies.
Forget what zone it's in, ignore setback regulations, dump lot coverage rules and all the other zoning jargon. If you had your way, what would you like to see there? What would be the best use for the community?
Last week, we asked you all what types of businesses should occupy a new development at 3901 N. Fairfax Dr. in Virginia Square.
This week, we're turning our attention 2950 Clarendon Blvd. The space, situated on the corner of Clarendon Boulevard and North Garfield Street, used to house Restaurant 3, which closed in June.
What kind of restaurant would you like to seen in its place? Another pizza restaurant? Dim sum? How about a steakhouse or a French bistro?
Be sure to weigh in with your ideas in the comments section.

Ballston is looking run down and the 20 year old buildings need makeovers.

A French restaurant is sorely missing from Clarendon. Or how about getting back the Aegean Taverna with its grapevines and live music--but with better food.

Clarendon needs a good late night diner, since WOW becomes a bar at night.
