A rare event will draw Trekkies to local movie theaters in July when two original episodes of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" hit the big screen.
To mark the 25th anniversary of the show, Fathom Events is showing Episode 106, “Where No One Has Gone Before,” and Episode 114, “Datalore,” in movie theaters, WTOP reported.
In “Where No One Has Gone Before,” the Enterprise is set up to go through high-speed tests. In “Datalore,” the Enterprise visits the planet where Data came from and finds an android very similar to Data, according to IMDb.

Local Star Trek fans can see the shows at 7 p.m. Monday, July 23, at the Regal Ballston Commons 12.
Five other movie theaters from Leesburg to Fredericksburg are showing the episodes as well:
