So far, police are not treating the investigation as a homicide.
Update (3:08 p.m.): The two men have been identified as Keefe Spriggs, 59, of Arlington, and Carl Moten, 31, who has no fixed address, according to a police news release.
Investigators are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact Detective Bob Wright at 703-228-4197 or email@example.com.
Update (12:35 p.m.): Police have entered the apartment and have identified the victims as two men who appear to be in their 40s or 50s, spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said.
Police are in the process of notifying next of kin, he said.
Investigators continue to treat this as a suspicious death investigation, Sternbeck said.
Original story: The Arlington County Police Department is investigating two suspicious deaths on North Culpeper Street.
A maintenance worker in a three-story apartment complex found two individuals dead Tuesday morning, police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said. Police received the initial 911 call on the incident at 10:11 a.m.
Officers have confirmed two bodies are in an apartment in the 1900 block of North Culpeper Street but have not yet begun the investigation.
Investigators are waiting on a search warrant to be signed before they can proceed.
"We were able to confirm it was obvious (dead on arrival) and then we back out. When the proper paperwork is processed, we can go in begin the investigation," Sternbeck said.
The search warrant should arrive "shortly," he said just before noon.
