Saturday is Bolivian Cultural Night

Eight acts will perform at Saturday's event.

Arlington will be home to Bolivian Cultural Night on Saturday, when folk traditions of the South American country will be showcased.

“It’s going to be a fun event where we are performing different dances from Bolivia... We hope all people from Arlington come,” said Nelly Zapata, who is the president of the Pro Bolivian Committee in Arlington.

The event takes place from 8 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the Lubber Run Park Amphitheater at the intersection of North Columbus Street and Second Street North.

The Pro Bolivia Committee counts more than 2,000 youth members who live in the county and beyond.

“Bolivia is very rich in dancing and culture and the costumes are all handmade,” Zapata said.

Eight groups with dancers ranging from ages 14 to 55 will perform. The event is free. For more information, visit the event's Web page.
