Police Seek Help Identifying Firecracker Bandits

The Arlington County Police Department released this security camera footage Thursday from an Aug. 19 attempted armed robbery.

The Arlington County Police Department released security camera footage Thursday from a botched Aug. 19 armed robbery of the 7-Eleven near the intersection of George Mason Drive and Columbia Pike.

Nothing was taken, as a firework exploded in one of the culprit's hands, scaring both men away.

Police described the gunman as a 5-foot, 8-inch man with a medium build and black hair. He was wearing grey hooded sweatshirt, a dark bandana around his face and black shorts at the time of the incident. The other suspect was described as a 5-foot, 7-foot man with an average build and was wearing a white V-neck T-shirt and dark shorts.
