The man and woman found dead Tuesday afternoon in a South Arlington apartment were married with two children, the Arlington County Police Department announced today.

Police are calling the case a murder-suicide.

Investigators believe Juan Carlos Mox Mox, 30, killed his wife, Xiomara Aracely Benitez, who was also 30, before taking his own life.

The couple was found by an adult family member who lived with them in their residence at Park Shirlington Apartments, 4510 31st St. S.

The couple's children were not home at the time of the incident and are with family, police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said Thursday.

Investigators are waiting a local medical examiner's office to determine the cause of death for each individual. 

Sternbeck said earlier this week that two different weapons were used, but he has not named them.
