Nation's Triathlon to Affect Traffic Sunday

Event draws more than 3,000.

The Nation's Triathlon event will affect traffic Sunday morning in Arlington.

Due to road closures in Washington, Chain Bridge will be closed to all traffic from 6 a.m. to noon, according to an Arlington County news release. All northbound North Glebe Road traffic will be directed to Route 123.

The triathlon, now in its seventh year, benefits the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and draws about 3,500 competitors. The event features a 1.5K swim in the Potomac River, a 40K bike course through the district and a 10K run through downtown D.C.’s historic landmarks, according to a news release on the event.
