Mostly Rain on Your Snowday: Are You Disappointed?

Clarendon, much of Arlington, was mostly cold and wet Wednesday.

Newspaper stuck together by ice. Rain, snow mix in the Courthouse area. While up to 12 inches of snow were in the forecast for the 'snowquester,' Arlington was mostly hit with rain on March 6, 2012.

While the National Weather Service had called for up to 12 inches of snow in Arlington County on Wednesday, most of what Arlingtonians got was rain.

Parts of Fairfax County and Maryland did, however, see some snowfall.

Do you wish we had seen more snow? Tell us in the comments.

I would have liked a moderate snowfall but based on the past inaccurate forecasts by the local weather guys/gals I really wasn't expecting much until the 11pm forecast from Channel 4 where they said 5-10 inches was almost a certainty in and around DC. Wrong again. Then they try to justify the accuracy of their forecast by telling us that Happy Creek WV and Massanuten got 15 inches. Just admit you blew it in the metro area and move on.

In fact there was significant snowfall inside the Beltway, in Annandale.

It doesn't take terrorists to close down the capital of the free world, close schools, shut down out airports, just an announcement of snow. Coming from NY, I would have been laughed out of the State if we allowed this to happen. But maybe the hot air from our national politicians kept us a few degrees above the freezing point ?
