Last Chance: Youth Video Production Camp

Camp is for 10- to 13-year-old aspiring filmmakers.

Arlington Independent Media has a few remaining spots open for its two-week Video Production Camp for 10- to 13-year-olds.

The camp is designed to introduce young filmmakers to the basic concepts of media literacy and crucial thinking. Participants will develop a story idea, write a script, shoot and edit video for their own production, according to AIM.

"At AIM, we want to change the way youth relate to media," the nonprofit states on its website. "We teach skills that transform youth from passive consumers of media, to active creators of media. AIM Video Production Camp, will not only give kids the technical and creative skills needed to produce video, but will show them how to look at media differently."

The camp runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays from June 25 to July 6. No class is scheduled for the Fourth of July. It's at Arlington Independent Media's office, 2701-C Wilson Blvd.

Registration is $699.
