U.S. Senate candidate Tim Kaine will headline the Arlington County Democratic Committee's Jefferson-Jackson Dinner this year.

Kaine, a former governor and former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, visited Arlington last month to meet with Northern Virginia business leaders and lay out his economic agenda.

"The Jefferson-Jackson Dinner is the Arlington Democrats' showcase event — a gala dinner that is not to be missed on the Arlington Democratic calendar," dinner organizers Virginia Robinson and Atima Omara-Alwala stated in an email.

The event will be June 8 at the Westin Arlington Gateway, 801 N. Glebe Road in Ballston. A reception begins at 6 p.m.; dinner, at 7 p.m.

Ticket prices range from $100 (for Young Democrats) to $1,000 (for sponsors). VIP tickets ($250) get you entry to a special open-bar reception  before dinner.

Last year, former U.S. Rep. Tom Perriello and potential 2013 gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe were the dinner's keynote speakers.
