'Fire Kitchen and Tequila Bar' to Open in Clarendon
Fuego Cocina y Tequileria will open in former Market Tavern/Harry's Tap Room space in late October.
A new Mexican restaurant and bar featuring more than 100 different tequilas will open in late October in Clarendon.
Fuego Cocina y Tequileria, or "fire kitchen and tequila bar," will fill the former Market Tavern/Harry's Tap Room space on the corner of Clarendon Boulevard and North Fillmore Street.
It's the latest venture by the three Passion Food Hospitality partners — Chef Jeff Tunks, Gus DiMillo and David Wizenberg — and "will be a temple of traditional Mexican cuisine serving in-your-face-food with authentic, robust, not-for-the-faint-of-heart flavors and textures," according to information provided by the group's marketing firm.
A new 50-foot bar will wrap around the main level and shelves will showcase a variety of cocktails, including several "sipping tequilas."
The restaurant will offer an extensive weekend brunch menu and will be open seven days a week with daily happy hour specials.
