Arlington County Police are investigating a reported sexual battery at a hotel near the intersection of North Glebe Road and Washington Boulevard in Ballston.

At about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, a female escort reported being sexually assaulted by an unknown man after refusing to comply with his demands, according to information police released today.

The escort told police she used a cell phone to call a bodyguard while struggling with her assailant. The bodyguard arrived, a fight ensued, and the man fled.

Earlier this week, police asked victims or witnesses of sexual assaults to come forward as they attempt to build a case against a man who is known to target women online and lure them to hotel rooms. They believe the most recent attack was against a female escort on Jan. 19 in a Crystal City hotel room.

Investigators do not believe the Ballston incident is related to that case, police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said.
