The deadline for submissions for the 2011 Rosebud Film and Video Festival has been extended to Monday, Oct. 3. 

The competition is open to Washington, Virginia and Maryland filmmakers and all of their works first released between Jan. 1, 2009, and Sept. 25, 2011. The festival looks for films that are "innovative, experimental, unusual and deeply personal."

An independent panel of judges will select up to 20 nominees from which five winners (including one Best of Show) will be chosen. The five winners will receive $1,000 cash, in addition to promotional opportunities.
