Crime Report: Man Destroys Merchandise at 7-Eleven, and more
The following information was reported by the Arlington County Police Department for incidents that took place from Oct. 4 through Oct. 12.
The following incidents were reported by the Arlington County Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.
A 31-year-old man is accused of destroying merchandise inside a 7-Eleven after trying to break open a cash register.
Darryl Dwight Forrest, who has no fixed address, was charged with attempted robbery, destruction of property, assault and battery and providing false identification to police.
Police said the incident occurred at 2:49 a.m. on the 200 block of S. Glebe Road on Oct. 6 when Forrest entered the convenience store and tried to break open the cash register. Police say he got into a fight with the store clerk and Forrest began destroying items in the store. Authorities arrived and arrested Forrest, who is now being held without bond.
A 40-year-old Arlington woman was charged with burglarizing a home.
According to police, Carole Jean Jamison, entered a home sometime between 3:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Oct. 7 on the 1300 block of S. Queen St..
Police said that credit cards, a laptop, gaming system, and cash among other items were stolen. Jamison was charged with burglary, grand larceny and larceny of credit cards.
A man passing a bus stop was held at gunpoint and had his wallet and money taken, police said. The two men approached the victims as he walked by the 400 block of N. Glebe Road at 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 4.
A man assaulted his girlfriend and took her cell phone, police said. The incident happened between 1 a.m. and 1:20 p.m. on Oct. 4 on the 2000 block of S. Langley St.
Two people attempted to rob a woman at 1:35 a.m. on the 2700 block of S. Nelson St. on Oct. 5. One of the suspects was a man, and the other was a woman. Both wore dark clothing, police said.
Numerous items were stolen from a construction site sometime between 2:10 p.m. on Oct. 5 and 8:40 a.m. on Oct. 6, police said. The items were take from a site on the 600 block of N. Quincy St..
Cash was taken from the desk door of a dorm room. The money was taken sometime between 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 4 and 11 a.m. on Oct. 5 at the room on the 2800 block of N. Glebe Road., police said.
Multiple laptops were taken from a business sometime between 7 pm. on Oct. 3 and 8:34 a.m. on Oct. 5. The business is located on the 1500 block of N. Wilson Blvd., police said.
A laptop and wallet were taken from a classroom teacher at 11 a.m. on Oct. 4 on the 1000 block of N. Fort Myer Drive, police said.
A laptop was stolen sometime between 9 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. on Oct. 9, police said. The incident occurred on the 800 block of N. Edgewood St..
Someone tried to enter a victim’s apartment at about 12:51 a.m. on Oct. 4. The suspect tried to enter through a window of the apartment on the 1900 block of S. Columbia Pike, but was scared away when the victim alerted other family members.

Multiple items were taken from a business sometime between 10:30 p.m. on Sept. 27 and 12:06 p.m. on Oct. 4. on the 2200 block of N. Fairfax Drive, police said.
Multiple cars were broken into sometime between 6:15 p.m. on Oct. 3 and 11:17 a.m. on Oct. 5, police said. the cars were located on the 1200 block of N. Garfield St.
