Armed Robbery at Rosslyn BB&T Bank
Two men, one of them armed and both still at large, robbed the bank on the 1900 block of N. Fort Myer Drive in Rosslyn.
Two men, one apprently armed with a gun, robbed the BB&T bank on the 1900 block of N. Fort Myer Drive in Rosslyn at around 1:40pm this afternoon and are still at large, according to a report from ARLnow. The same report suggests that the men dropped stolen money in the parking lot of the adjacent Holiday Inn after a dye pack exploded.
In the hour following the incident, at least a dozen Arlington Police personnel could be seen through the first story bank branch dusting for fingerprints and interviewing visibly shaken employees.
The same bank was robbed on January 11 of 2008 at 2:40pm, according to an Arlington County news release from that day.
As people left from the office tower above the bank, several told Patch that they had no idea an armed bank robbery had occurred, though nearly an hour had passed since it was first reported.
"We had to go on Fox 5 to learn what was going on. There wasn't a warning [from the office building] or anything," said Tiffany Williams, who works in the building, "It was insane."
